Man of Aran was originally a documentary by the father of documentary filmmaking, Robert Flaherty. When they recently found a good quality copy of the film, they restored and re-released it, and asked British Sea Power to compose a whole new score to it. It's obviously better when you watch it with the film, but it works great as a stand-alone album too. Good shit.
